HITLER : PORTRAIT OF A VICIOUS MADMAN BY MICHEL J. CAHIER

BOOKS THAT DENOUNCED OR EULOGIZED HITLER
BEFORE THE WAR

Pre war anti-hitlerite literature is not scarce. It was massively read in the USA and in England, much less in Continental Europe. First because the writers were Anglo-saxons and not always trusted in Latin and Catholic countries where Fascist leanings were more common. Second they were very often German and suspected of parti-pris. However, a number of excellent books as soon as the early 1930's described very accurately what was the Nazism and what the world could expect from the Nazis. Unfortunately those warnings were often ignored by the men in power, notably the politicians who clearly lacked any form of clairvoyance, and the masses especially in the USA who thought that Hitlerism was purely an European phenomenon, thus not threatening America.

We reproduce below the cover of some of the best books of this period : to the exception of Mein Kampf in English and one book written by Gottfried Feder, one of Hitler's Gurus, they denounced Hitler and his henchmen for what they were : a bunch of cynical, cold-blooded and fanatical thugs.
